AA Editing and Translation Services is a registered company (RA0040198–M) providing editing, proofreading, translation, and transcription services. Translation is from English into Bahasa Melayu and vice versa. Translation in Arabic, French, German, and Mandarin as well as transcriptions in Bahasa Melayu, English, and Mandarin are available on request. Our opening hours are 10:00–18:00 (Mondays–Fridays). We are closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Malaysian public holidays.

Our Managing Director and full–time editor, Arnie Shakinar, holds a Master of Science (Managerial Communication) from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), a Bachelor of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Hons) from The University of Southampton, and a Professional Award in Marketing UK Education from the British Council. She worked in the education and cultural relations industries including the British Council, where her editing and translation work began, for nearly a decade before deciding to focus on editing and proofreading. She has edited many theses, papers or journal articles in various disciplines including those published in high–impact journals, academic reports for industry, university websites, promotional materials, company documents, minutes of meeting, and CVs as well as proofread translation work for over 12 years. She is familiar with the APA Style, Harvard Style, and Chicago Manual of Style. Her work experience include teaching, education counselling, education marketing, alumni relations, alumni and student club events management, web content management, training consultancy, international relations, and administration. She has appeared on the national television and in publications. She has also completed a PhD semester at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).
Our full–time translator and transcriber, Maizura, holds a Bachelor of Information Technology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and a translation certificate from the Malaysian Institute of Translation and Books (ITBM). She has worked in the banking industry for nearly 17 years, of which the last nine years were spent in the card business where she gained experience in translating credit card and debit card sales, marketing and legal documents or materials. Now, being a certified and professional translator, she works with local and international agencies, having translated many materials such as state enactments, privacy policy, training desk, audit reports, press releases, codes of conduct, surveys, questionnaires, bank web pages and marketing messages, journal articles, theses, marketing emails or write–ups, and e–learning portals. She is also a lifetime member of the Malaysian Translators Association (MTA).
Armed with a first–class honours degree from the renowned London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) and an MBA (best student) from the International Islamic University of Malaysia, our guest translator, Timura, chartered her career in the corporate world in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, and supervision. She obtained her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification while in the corporate service and then proceeded to become a Chartered Accountant as a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Winning numerous academic awards, including the prestigious Courtauld Award for Best Performance in Financial Reporting during her study at the LSE, is a testament of her hard work, commitment, and devotion to the pursuit of knowledge. After serving for more than 10 years at multinational companies and a regulatory body, Timura decided to pursue her passion and ventured into the fields of editing, proofreading, and translation. She passed the translation examination set by Institut Terjemahan dan Buku Malaysia with flying colours (above 85%) and has become a certified translator and a part–time translator with the institute. She translates texts from English into Bahasa Melayu and from Bahasa Melayu into English. She edits and proofreads documents in various social science fields including finance, accounting, economics, banking, Islamic banking and finance, business studies, education, marketing, management, corporate governance, business ethics, tourism, hospitality management, public policy, politics, occupational safety and health, and environment. Among the works that received her touch in proofreading and translation review is the book 'Revisiting Atas Angin: A Review of the Malay Imagination of Rum, Ferringhi, and the Penjajah' by Professor Ahmad Murad Merican.
Our guest translator and transcriber, Sharifah Razlin Jamalullail, is the principal writer, translator, and editor of SRN Word Works Sdn. Bhd. She holds a Diploma in Tourism Management from Institut Teknologi MARA (ITM) and a Professional Certificate in Translation from Institut Terjemahan Negara Malaysia. She is currently pursuing her Professional MBA at Genovasi University College. She was a full–time travel consultant for 10 years before deciding to venture into linguistics. Her journey began by setting up a sole proprietor company, SRJ Translation Services, to serve branding and advertising agencies as well as web content management companies by providing copywriting, editing, and translation services for government websites, corporate annual reports, press advertisements, company profiles, business manuals, and the like. Ten years later, she decided to spread her wings further by converting her small setup into a private limited company to target more multinational companies and government agencies. Apart from managing her own language house, Sharifah Razlin is also the Head of Human Resources at Jet Fuels Sdn Bhd. Having affiliations with the Malaysian National Translation Institute, embassies, branding and advertising agencies, web content management companies, human resource management companies, local universities as well as a good access to foreign language native speakers, she is confident that the future is bright for SRN Word Works Sdn. Bhd.
